The Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument will serve as a long overdue and permanent reminder of the service and sacrifice of all Texans who served in Vietnam. As this article reminds us, “There were no parades celebrating the bravery and perseverance of the 2.7 million young men and women who donned a uniform and served in some of the most difficult and dangerous conditions on earth.”
As our nation begins a commemoration of the Vietnam War, we in Texas are proud to participate by building a monument to honor our state’s Vietnam War Armed Forces and civilian veterans.
